Marine Mechanical Insulation in Washington

InsulDynamics installs mechanical insulation for the marine industry in Washington State. We do thermal, acoustic, and fire-rated work on pipes, machinery, engine rooms, and bulkheads for commercial vessels, ferries, fishing fleets, and port facilities.

Marine work has to handle salt air, vibration, limited space, and the inspection rules that come with the vessel or facility. Installations are built to reduce fuel use, control condensation, meet fire ratings where required, and hold up in wet, harsh conditions.

Systems

  • Piping, equipment, and ductwork

  • Engine rooms

  • Bulkheads

  • Thermal insulation

  • Acoustic / sound control

  • Fire-rated marine applications

The system on a vessel is not the same as the system in an office mechanical room. Space is tight. Surfaces vibrate. Salt and moisture find every gap. Covering has to stay on and stay dry, or it becomes a maintenance problem instead of a performance upgrade.

What Marine Insulation Has to Survive

Salt air and washdown attack jackets and seams that would last for years indoors. Vibration works fittings loose if they were never finished correctly. Engine rooms run hot. Cold lines still sweat. Fire-rated assemblies have to match the vessel or facility requirement, not a commercial building spec copied onto a boat.

We install to the spec and the inspection standard that applies to that vessel or facility. The goal is covering that does its job through the next inspection cycle, not covering that looks finished on day one and fails in the first winter.

Who This Is For

Shipyards, vessel owners, ferry operators, fishing fleets, and port facilities in Puget Sound and along the Washington coast that need mechanical insulation installed or replaced.

Typical work includes new install during a yard period, replacement of damaged or soaked insulation, and targeted repairs in engine rooms and on piping that can be isolated. Schedule follows the vessel or the facility — not a standard commercial job calendar.

Where We Do Marine Work

Puget Sound ports and shipyards, Anacortes and surrounding Skagit marine work, and other Washington coast and inland marine facilities by project. Bellingham is home base, which keeps northern Sound and Whatcom / Skagit marine jobs close.
